The subject of the competition was to create an interior design for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs located in the building from 1929-38 at Al. J. Ch. Szucha 23 in Warsaw. The designers' goal was to restore the interior of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to its due importance and to the functional and aesthetic standards applicable in state buildings. The project aims to build a modern - although rooted in tradition - image of the Polish State that will meet contemporary challenges. The interior, which has been subject to subsequent adaptations and modernizations over the years, is rich in numerous design solutions. The main intention was to introduce new elements to highlight the values of the preserved, valuable forms and details of the equipment. The basic method was to use large, calm, uniform surfaces with subdued white and graphite colors. This narrow range includes a variety of finishing materials, their textures and the way they reflect light in order to gradate the tension and highlight particularly important points in the space. Due to the fact that this principle applies to all newly designed interiors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, even the different zones of the building gain a coherent character.
